Berlin at night and brightly lit – that is only possible during the 12-day “Festival of Lights” event, which has now established itself as one of the most important international public events in the world. From October 11th to 20th, 2019 it will take place for the 15th time.

In October, landmarks, cultural monuments, streets and squares of the German capital are skilfully staged by lighting designers and artists. From the Brandenburg Gate to the gendarmes market, the television tower and Potsdamer Platz, spectacular bright accents can be found that captivate around 1.5 million visitors every year.

Berlin, as a luminous work of art, not only consists of static lighting but also illuminations that tell whole stories with colours, patterns and pictures. If you don’t want to explore the glittering and colourful metropolis on foot, you can easily be chauffeured from one work of art to another during one of the evening sightseeing Tours, e.g. with the Light Liner Bus or on one of the illuminated Lightships.
